Woman Killed, Two Seriously Injured in Manchester Triple Stabbing; Suspect Arrested
A 43-year-old woman has died, and two others are in critical condition following a triple stabbing in Manchester late Sunday night. The tragic incident occurred at a property on Barnard Road in Gorton around 11:20 p.m.
Emergency services arrived to find the woman with fatal stab wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, a 17-year-old girl and a 64-year-old man, were also found with severe injuries. Both were rushed to the hospital, where they are currently in life-threatening conditions.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Greater Manchester Police have indicated that the suspect is believed to have known the victims.
Detective Superintendent Toby Facey addressed the public, acknowledging the shock and concern this incident has caused in the local community. “Our thoughts are with those affected and their loved ones during this difficult time. We are doing everything possible to support them,” Facey said.
He added that police responded swiftly, with officers arriving at the scene and making an arrest within minutes of the emergency call. An investigation is underway, with detectives working throughout the night to understand the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Local officers will continue to be present in the area to conduct inquiries, supported by an increased number of visible patrols to reassure the community.
