The Women of Valour event made history in France as a prestigious private mansion on Avenue Saint-Honoré opened its doors to celebrate the resilience, triumphs, and transformational journeys of African women.

For the first time in Paris, the gathering provided a platform for women to share their inspiring stories and empower one another. Renowned journalist and radio host Doreen Avio expressed her motivation for attending: “I decided to come to support our sisters and be part of these women sharing their incredible stories.”

More than just a conference, Women of Valour served as a space for participants to connect, exchange experiences, and gain valuable tools for personal and professional growth. Setting the tone for an evening of inspiration, organizers welcomed guests with the words: “Let’s make this evening special and inspiring for all of us.”

The event’s founder, Nana Aba Anamoah, emphasized the importance of unity and gender equality. “We need to support each other. We are not in competition with men. We simply seek equal opportunities and gender parity. That’s why I created this event,” she stated.

A highlight of the evening was the powerful testimony of Mami Gyamfua Yeboah, a single mother who turned adversity into success as the founder of Oh My Hair. “Failure is not the end; it’s part of success. Think of success as bringing you joy, fulfillment, and making an impact on others,” she encouraged.

The event’s impact resonated with both men and women in attendance. Benjamin Owusu shared how deeply moved he was by the strength of the women: “As a man, their resilience truly inspired me.” Meanwhile, another attendee, Winnie, reflected on her newfound confidence: “I need to have the courage to do everything I want to do.”

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Women of Valour sent a powerful message—every woman has the ability to lead, inspire, and create change.
