X User Recounts Eerie Story of Man Declared Dead 10 Years Before Returning With Family

A social media user on X has shared a chilling tale about a Nigerian man whose family allegedly discovered he had been dead for a decade despite traveling home with him.

According to the narration, the man arrived in Nigeria with his foreign wife and three children to visit his family. As they approached his family’s house, he excused himself, saying he wanted to pick something up from a nearby shop.

When he failed to return, his wife and children proceeded to the compound, only to be told by relatives that he had died more than ten years earlier. Shockingly, they were even shown his grave.

The X user who shared the story admitted it was originally meant to be part of a project on unusual online tales but soon felt disturbingly real.

The revelation came as a reaction to another post in which someone narrated how their father recently greeted a neighbour on the street  only to later discover the man had died four months before.

Both stories have sparked heated conversations online, with many users describing them as spine-chilling encounters that blur the lines between reality and the supernatural.
