Xi Signs Order to Launch Military Science Award Regulations
Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed an order issuing new regulations on the awarding of military scientific research.
The directive, announced on Thursday, is set to take effect from July 1. It is part of China’s broader strategy to strengthen its armed forces through technological advancement.
According to the order, the regulations aim to establish a structured award system aligned with both national and military strategic objectives. Combat effectiveness will serve as the primary benchmark for recognition.
The new framework also introduces stricter procedures for nomination and review, as well as enhanced oversight to ensure discipline and protect confidentiality.
Authorities say the initiative is designed to boost innovation in military research, drive faster breakthroughs in defence technology, and provide robust scientific backing for building a modern, high-tech military force.
