Yobe Hisbah Commission Destroys Cartons of Seized Alcohol Following Court Order

The Yobe State Hisbah Commission has destroyed several cartons of alcohol seized during an operation in the Gashua community, Bade Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued on Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Commission’s spokesperson, Sibawaihi Ukasha Gashua, said the destruction was carried out in compliance with a court order granted by the Lower Shari’ah Court.

According to the statement, the alcohol was intercepted on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from a J5 vehicle that departed from Jos, Plateau State. Both the suspects and the seized items were subsequently taken to court, where judgment was delivered in accordance with Shari’ah law.

“The Yobe State Hisbah Commission continues to intensify efforts toward eradicating immoral acts and promoting a disciplined and moral society. We pray that Almighty Allah guides and reforms our entire community,” Gashua stated.

The exercise is part of the Commission’s ongoing campaign to enforce moral conduct and uphold Islamic principles across the state.
