17 ISWAP Militants Drown Attempting River Crossing on Nigeria-Niger Border

At least 17 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants drowned while trying to cross a river between Kafetoa and Bulabulin Gaidam villages, located along the Nigeria-Niger Republic border.

The insurgents were reportedly attempting to reach Tam village in Niger Republic, near Kannamma in Yobe State, Nigeria, when strong river currents overwhelmed them. According to intelligence sources, the militants were displaced from their bases, including Bulabulin Geidam, Chettimari, and Diffan, situated along the Nigeria-Niger borders.
