2026 American Music Awards Set for Las Vegas as Taylor Swift Dominates Nominations

The 52nd Annual American Music Awards (AMAs) will take place live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25, 2026, bringing together some of the biggest names in global music for one of the industry’s most fan-driven award ceremonies.

This year’s edition will be hosted by American rapper and actress Queen Latifah, marking her return to the AMA stage 31 years after she first co-hosted the event in 1995.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift leads the nominations with eight nods, including Artist of the Year. Should she sweep her categories, she would tie records previously set by music legends Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most wins in a single night. However, reports suggest Swift may not attend the ceremony in person.

Other top nominees include Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and Sombr, each earning seven nominations.

The awards night will also feature performances from major international acts, including BTS, The Pussycat Dolls, Busta Rhymes, Keith Urban, and Karol G.

In special honours, rock legend Billy Idol will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, while country star Darius Rucker will be recognised with the Veterans Voice Award for his contributions supporting military organisations.
