Jordan has reaffirmed its full support for Egypt’s efforts to reconstruct the Gaza Strip while ensuring Palestinians remain on their land.

Presidential spokesperson Mohamed el-Shenawy stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s commitment to strengthening ties with Jordan during a meeting in Cairo with Jordan’s Crown Prince, Hussein bin Abdullah II.

El-Sisi commended Jordan’s progress under King Abdullah II and received the monarch’s greetings through the crown prince. Discussions centered on the Palestinian situation, including Egypt’s role in implementing a ceasefire in Gaza, facilitating the exchange of hostages and prisoners, and ensuring uninterrupted humanitarian aid flow.

Prince Hussein expressed Jordan’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in stabilizing the ceasefire and restoring regional calm. He reiterated Jordan’s support for Egypt’s Gaza reconstruction plans, stressing the need to rebuild without displacing Palestinians.

Both sides highlighted the urgency of an Arab consensus on the Palestinian issue, with Jordan backing Egypt’s upcoming emergency Arab summit. They also warned of escalating tensions in the West Bank and attacks on holy sites in Al-Quds.

Additionally, Egypt and Jordan reaffirmed their commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the foundation for lasting peace in the Middle East. The leaders also discussed Syria, emphasizing the importance of its unity, stability, and territorial integrity.
