A transgender woman accused of multiple child sexual offenses was found hanged before her scheduled court appearance, Southampton Crown Court heard on Tuesday.
Maddison Wilson, 37, was facing charges of rape and other historical sexual offenses against children. She had appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on February 12 and was set to enter a plea at the crown court. However, the case has now been discontinued following her death.
According to preliminary inquest records, Wilson was found dead in the early hours of February 14 near a historic castle in Southsea, Portsmouth. The Hampshire coroner’s office confirmed that a full inquest will take place at a later date.
Wilson was accused of raping a girl under 13 and inciting her to engage in sexual activity in Hull, East Yorkshire, in 2011. She also faced charges of sexually assaulting a boy
