NDC Hosts Graduation Golf Tournament for Course 32 Participants
The National Defence College (NDC) organized a golf tournament on Saturday to celebrate the impending graduation of its Course 32 participants, set for August 23.
Maj.-Gen. Emmanuel Undiandeye, the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), served as the Special Guest of Honour and officially inaugurated the tournament at the TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club in Abuja.
Undiandeye highlighted that the golf event marked a key activity in concluding the training year for Course 32 participants, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness alongside intellectual preparation for strategic and operational warfare.
“This event fosters camaraderie among golfers and members of the NDC community, allowing participants to unwind from the intense academic schedule of the past year,” Undiandeye remarked.
Rear Adm. Olumuyiwa Olotu, Commandant of NDC, noted that the golf tournament is a significant part of the graduation festivities. Represented by AVM Titus Dauda, College Secretary, Olotu underscored the college’s commitment to both the intellectual and physical development of its participants and staff.
The NDC has a tradition of concluding its academic year with activities like the golf tournament to promote relaxation and fitness. Course 32 participants, inducted in September 2023, hail from various branches of the Nigerian Armed Forces, paramilitary agencies, MDAs, and allied nations. Their training culminates in the August 23 graduation ceremony, where President Bola Tinubu is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour.
Additional events leading up to the graduation include Jumuah and Inter-Denominational Church Services, a TOMBOLA, a Sports Fiesta, and a Graduation Lecture by former Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
