China Slaps Five-Year Anti-Dumping Duties on Polymer Imports from U.S., EU, Taiwan, Japan

China’s Ministry of Commerce has announced that it will impose anti-dumping duties on imports of polyformaldehyde copolymer from the United States, the European Union, Taiwan, and Japan, effective May 19 and lasting for five years.

The decision follows a detailed investigation which concluded that the imported products were being dumped at unfairly low prices, causing significant harm to the domestic polyformaldehyde copolymer industry.

According to the ministry, the anti-dumping tariffs will range between 3.8 percent and 74.9 percent, depending on the origin and supplier of the imports.

Polyformaldehyde copolymer is widely used in manufacturing sectors such as automotive parts, electronics, industrial machinery, sports gear, and medical equipment, often serving as a substitute for metals like copper, zinc, tin, and lead.
