A 50-year-old man, David Olorunsomo, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting his wife and inflicting bodily harm.
Olorunsomo, whose address was not disclosed, is facing a charge of assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, informed the court that the incident occurred on June 6 at the Balogun Erunwen area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Isaac alleged that the defendant assaulted his wife, Mrs. Magret Olorunsomo, by beating her and causing her bodily injuries.
He said the offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate B. A. Sonuga granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until June 30 for mention.
