NAHCON Inspects Medical Facilities in Makkah, Praises Pilgrim Healthcare Services
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has carried out a comprehensive inspection of its medical clinics and outposts in Makkah, reaffirming its commitment to the health and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims.
The inspection exercise was led by the Commissioner for Policy, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services (PRSILS), Prof. Abubakar Yagawal, according to a statement issued on Saturday by NAHCON’s Principal Information Officer, Malam Shafii Mohammed.
During the visit to the Shari’ Sittin Clinic, the Head of Clinic, Dr Fakhrdeen Muhammad, took the delegation through key sections, including treatment wards and pharmacy units. At Misfalah Clinic, Dr Bunu Bukar conducted a tour of both male and female wards, while Dr Ahmad Usman showcased the operations at the Kano State Medical Outpost.
The clinic heads reported managing various health conditions among pilgrims, such as flu, chest infections, hypertension, and complications from diabetes. A notable case of cardiac arrest was also successfully handled. While a few mortality cases were recorded, many pilgrims commended NAHCON’s provision of free, prompt, and compassionate healthcare services.
Speaking after the inspection, Prof. Yagawal expressed satisfaction with the facilities and applauded the dedication and professionalism of the medical personnel on duty.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visit highlights NAHCON’s continued efforts to ensure quality healthcare delivery during the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Other officials on the inspection team included Dr Saidu Ahmad Dumbulwa, NAHCON Commissioner representing the Federal Ministry of Health; Deputy Director of Planning, Ibrahim Mahmood; and senior members of the National Medical Team.
