Operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 32 suspected internet fraudsters in Bauchi State.
The operation, which took place on Friday, was confirmed in a statement issued Monday by EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in Abuja.
According to Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended in the Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi following credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities.
“Items recovered from them include: nine Samsung mobile phones, 15 iPhones, one Infinix phone, three Redmi phones, and two iPads,” he stated.
He added that other items retrieved during the operation were “one Peugeot 406 car, two PlayStation 4 consoles, one PlayStation 5, four Neonx Auto bikes, eight laptop computers, one Maxi E50KWH generator and one pistol.”
Oyewale noted that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
