Polish Leader Visits Kyiv on Ukraine’s 33rd Independence Anniversary
Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv on Saturday to commemorate Ukraine’s 33rd Independence Day, amid ongoing conflict in the country.
The Polish leader’s visit was announced in a statement from his office on X, which highlighted his participation in the day’s celebrations.
“President @AndrzejDuda has begun his visit to Ukraine on the occasion of its 33rd Independence Day,” the statement read.
During his visit, President Duda paid tribute to fallen Ukrainian soldiers by laying flowers at the Wall of Remembrance near Kyiv’s Mykhailivska Square. Ukraine celebrates its Independence Day annually on August 24, marking the 1991 adoption of the country’s Declaration of Independence from the Soviet Union.
