Ukraine Deploys New Palyanytsia Drone, Strikes Deep into Russian Territory
Ukraine has successfully deployed a new type of rocket-drone weapon called the Palyanytsia, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
##President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the strike during his Independence Day address, stating that Ukraine will soon have the capability to target any point within Russia.
The Palyanytsia drone reportedly hit a target in Russian-occupied territory, potentially in Crimea, though Zelensky did not specify the exact location. The drone is part of a new class of high-speed, long-range weapons developed by Ukraine, with its design and capabilities remaining largely secret.
Additionally, Ukraine struck an ammunition warehouse in Russia’s Voronezh region, highlighting the widening scope of its military operations. This comes amidst a series of setbacks for Russia, including a Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region.
As tensions rise, Russian President Vladimir Putin held an emergency meeting with military leaders to address the growing challenges on the front.
Zelensky praised the development and deployment of the new weapon, calling it a “new method of retaliation against the aggressor.” In a symbolic gesture, both sides exchanged 115 prisoners of war, marking a rare moment of negotiation amid the conflict.
