APC Chieftain Ejeh Udeh Shot Dead Outside His Home in Benue
Makurdi, Benue State – Tragedy struck in Otukpo Local Government Area on Monday, September 22, as Ejeh Udeh, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was reportedly assassinated outside his residence.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack occurred around midnight when gunmen on a motorcycle laid ambush near Udeh’s Ugboju home. They allegedly waited for his return before surrounding him and firing multiple shots at close range.
The fatal shooting happened in full view of his wife and children, leaving the family and community in deep shock. Reports indicate that the assailants fled immediately after the attack, and no arrests have been confirmed as of press time.
Both PM News and the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) have confirmed the killing, describing it as a cruel and targeted assault on the APC stalwart.
Udeh’s death has sparked outrage and fear in the area, with residents calling for urgent action from security agencies to curb the rising wave of politically linked violence in Benue State.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while investigations into the assassination are expected to commence.
