The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested five men accused of conspiring to supply motorcycles to terrorists in the state.

Police spokesperson CSP Nafiu Abubakar said in a statement on Monday, September 22, that the suspects were apprehended on September 18, 2025, during a joint patrol by officers and vigilantes led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kamba Division, Bello Lawal.

The four initial suspects — Saifullahi Suleiman (37), Halidu Adamu (26), Ibrahim Abubakar (37), and Sani Kabiru (22) — were found in possession of three Honda motorcycles, reportedly purchased in Benin Republic for ₦5.4 million. Investigations revealed the bikes were intended for delivery to the Lakurawa terrorist group through a contact identified only as “Alhaji,” who is still at large.

A fifth suspect, Mubarak Ladan (28), was later arrested after allegedly offering ₦600,000 to secure the release of the others. The bribe was rejected, and the money was recovered as evidence.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the DPO and vigilante team for their professionalism and vowed to intensify efforts to track down other suspects linked to the case. He also urged residents to continue partnering with security agencies to ensure a safer Kebbi State.
