The Kwara State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly linked to multiple abductions across the state.

One of the suspects, identified as Aliyu Isiaka, was reportedly arrested while wearing female clothing and a hijab and carrying a bag containing assorted charms.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the suspect was apprehended by Forest Guards led by Jebrin Adam at Okolowo, Ilorin, at about 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Isiaka, a native of Ga’a-Kpapa village in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, allegedly confessed during interrogation to being a member of a nine-man kidnapping syndicate led by a suspect identified as Juli, who is currently at large.

The police said Isiaka disclosed that he joined the gang in August 2026 and participated in three kidnapping operations in Oloru, Alapa and Malete, where the gang allegedly collected substantial ransom payments.

Following further investigations, police operatives and Forest Guards reportedly raided the suspected kidnappers’ camp on Sunday, October 25, arresting two additional suspects identified as Seriki and Jebrin.

The arrests brought the total number of suspects apprehended in connection with the alleged kidnapping network to three.

The police said investigations were ongoing and that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, described the operation as a significant step towards dismantling kidnapping networks and improving security in vulnerable communities.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led operations, collaboration with other security agencies and efforts to apprehend other suspected members of the syndicate.
