U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly considering a visit to South Korea later this month ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, according to diplomatic sources cited by Yonhap News on Saturday.

Trump is expected to hold separate talks with leaders from South Korea and China before the APEC meetings, which are scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 1 in Gyeongju.

A ruling party official told Yonhap that Trump “is expected to arrive on October 29 and visit Gyeongju,” though his itinerary remains under coordination between Seoul and Washington.

Before his potential stop in South Korea, Trump is slated to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Malaysia from October 26 to 28, followed by a visit to Japan.

After Japan, diplomatic sources said the U.S. president may continue to South Korea for a one-day visit before returning to the United States.

The planned trip underscores Washington’s ongoing engagement with key Asian allies amid growing regional security and trade discussions ahead of the high-level APEC gathering.
