Nathaniel Bassey reveals wife’s five miscarriages during Hallelujah Challenge

Gospel minister Nathaniel Bassey has opened up about the painful experiences his family endured while he led the popular Hallelujah Challenge.

Speaking during the early hours of Friday’s session of the ongoing month-long virtual praise and worship event, Bassey revealed that his wife suffered five miscarriages, including an ectopic pregnancy, during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

The Hallelujah Challenge—which draws thousands of worshippers online to sing, pray, and share testimonies—has become a global Christian movement since its inception.

Bassey recounted how he often had to leave the hospital to minister online before returning to be by his wife’s side, describing those moments as a profound test of faith.

Despite the emotional toll, he said he remained steadfast in his calling, trusting God through the trials that strengthened their faith and testimony.
