The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to a one-chance robbery and attempted kidnapping operation in Abuja.

Spokesperson for the command, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, October 12, 2025, noting that two victims were rescued during the operation. Items recovered from the suspects included 15 international passports, daggers, cutlasses, bloodstained documents, mobile phones, and other dangerous weapons.

According to Adeh, one of the victims sustained multiple stab wounds inflicted by the suspects and was rushed to Gwarinpa General Hospital for treatment.

She explained that on October 8, 2025, at about 10:09 p.m., police operatives at Life Camp Division received a distress call from a victim who had been abducted by a criminal gang demanding ₦1 million ransom. Acting swiftly, officers deployed digital and tactical intelligence, leading to the arrest of the suspects in Dape Village around 4:30 a.m. on October 9 after a heated confrontation.

The suspects were identified as Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere. Further investigation revealed that the gang had been operating around the Bannex and Kado areas, targeting unsuspecting passengers with a tinted vehicle. They confessed to robbing six victims before their arrest.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include 15 international passports, two sharp daggers, two cutlasses, four mobile phones, two hammers, and bloodstained documents.

SP Adeh said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The FCT Commissioner of Police commended the Life Camp Division for their swift response and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines — 08032003913, 08028940883, and CRU FCT: 08107314192.
