The Gombe Network of Civil Society Organisations (GONET) has expressed shock and profound sadness over the passing of Col. Abdullahi Bello (retd), Honourable Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Gombe State, who died in a tragic motor accident along the Malam Sidi Gombe road.
Ambassador Ibrahim Yusuf, Chairman, GONET in a statement issued to newsmen in Gombe described the loss as “painful” to the entire Gombe State.
Yusuf said that the late Commissioner was a patriotic son of Gombe who devoted his life to ensuring the safety and peace of the state.
He also condoled with the family of the deceased police orderly, Sergeant Adamu Husaini, who died alongside with the Commissioner in the tragic auto crash on Friday.
“This painful loss is not only a tragedy to his immediate family and the Gombe State Government but also to the entire citizens of Gombe State, who have benefited immensely from his exemplary service, discipline, and leadership.
“Col. Bello (retd) was a patriotic son of Gombe, a courageous officer, and a dedicated public servant who devoted his life to ensuring the safety and peace of our dear state.
“On behalf of all civil society organisations in Gombe State, we pray that Almighty Allah forgive their shortcomings, comfort their families, and grant them Aljannat Firdaus.
