OPay to host ‘Empowering Futures’ Conference 2025, unveils new CyberLab Initiative, Graduate Recruitment Programme
Fintech giant OPay is set to host the Empowering Futures Conference 2025 on October 31 at the Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, marking one year since the launch of its ₦1.2 billion 10-Year Scholarship Programme dedicated to education and youth development.
The event will bring together key stakeholders from academia, the private sector, and the media to review the achievements of the past year and explore how collaborative partnerships can further strengthen social investment efforts in Nigeria.
Since its introduction, OPay’s ₦1.2 billion Scholarship Programme has emerged as a major pillar of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. In just its first year, the initiative has partnered with 20 tertiary institutions nationwide, providing hundreds of students across all six geopolitical zones with financial support for tuition, accommodation, and essential study materials.
This inaugural conference will also serve as the official launch of the OPay CyberLab Initiative, a new project designed to enhance digital literacy and innovation within Nigerian higher institutions. In addition, the company will spotlight its Graduate Recruitment Initiative, which connects high-performing graduates with career opportunities within OPay’s expanding ecosystem.
“At OPay, our belief is simple — access to quality education and technology creates lasting change,” said Elizabeth Wang, Chief Commercial Officer at OPay. “Through the Scholarship Programme, Graduate Recruitment, and now the CyberLab Initiative, we’re helping young Nigerians turn potential into purpose. The Empowering Futures Conference is our way of celebrating these strides and fostering greater collaboration for national impact.”
The Empowering Futures Conference 2025 marks a significant milestone in OPay’s CSR journey — celebrating progress, unveiling transformative projects, and reaffirming the company’s commitment to empowering Nigeria’s youth through education, innovation, and opportunity.
Founded in 2018, OPay has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading financial technology institutions, offering services such as money transfers, bill payments, airtime and data purchases, and merchant solutions. Licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), OPay continues to drive financial inclusion through accessible, technology-driven services.
