American rapper Rod Wave was reportedly arrested in Atlanta on the same day he learned he had earned his first-ever Grammy nomination.

According to TMZ, the 26-year-old rapper, born Rodarius Green, was taken into custody on charges including possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. Authorities say they initially responded to a call about a possible domestic disturbance. The situation later led to the discovery of an alleged unreported burglary and a discharged firearm, prompting further investigation.

Rod Wave is said to have surrendered to police voluntarily and was released shortly afterward on bond. The case remains under investigation, and no trial date has been set.

This marks the rapper’s second arrest this year. In May, he was detained in Fulton County on related charges, which his legal team denied. He has also previously faced allegations involving firearm possession, though his lawyers maintain he is not a convicted felon and has been wrongly linked to those claims.

Despite the legal troubles, Rod Wave reached a new milestone in his career with his first Grammy nomination. His track “Sinners,” featured on the soundtrack of the horror-action film of the same name, has been nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.

The artist has yet to publicly comment on his arrest or the nomination.
