2027: Group endorses Bakari-Girei for Adamawa governor

An interest group, Adamawa State Youths Forum, has endorsed Dr Salihu Bakari-Bello for the 2027 governorship election on the platform of All Progressives Congress in the state.

Chairman of the forum, Umar Yakubu, stated this at a news conference in Yola.

Yakubu said that the endorsement was based on the fact that Bakari-Girei has a good track of records, delivering results in public service and community development.

“Today, we gather to draw the attention of our party leaders to view the 2027 gubernatorial race with the eyes of wisdom and strategic foresight.

“Dr Bakari-Girei has been a staunch party loyalist from inception and has been supporting in building the party.

“He invested massively in sustainable youth development through education, skills development and employment.

“He has been a rallying point to many communities for infrastructural development,” he said.

Yakubu called on APC stakeholders in the state to, as a matter of urgency and unity of purpose, prioritise competence, experience and electability in the selection of the governorship standard bearer.

“We at the grassroots, with our ears firmly on the ground, know what the voters are saying. We know capability when we see it.

“We present to the APC leadership a tested, trusted and proven leader: Dr Salihu Bakari Girei, the ideal candidate to reclaim Adamawa State from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the forum had earlier expressed profound gratitude to APC, President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and other stakeholders.

According to Yakubu, the ruling PDP in state has been rattled by the transformative policies of the APC-led Federal Government.

“Our party is one to beat, with a growing network of defectors from other parties flocking to our fold,” he said.
