At least four people have been killed and 19 others injured following a wave of Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian authorities said on Sunday.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russia launched nearly 100 drones and one missile overnight. Of the 97 drones fired, 75 were intercepted or electronically jammed, while 19 struck eight locations across the country.
In the northeastern town of Izium in the Kharkiv region, rescue workers recovered the bodies of two people from the rubble after a residential building collapsed. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov said two others were injured, with several homes and a residential block damaged by the strikes.
In eastern Donetsk region, authorities reported that one person was killed and four others wounded in separate attacks.
Meanwhile, in the southern Kherson region, seven people were injured after Russian shelling hit private homes, four multi-storey buildings, an administrative facility and a gas pipeline, local officials said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia has intensified its aerial campaign, launching about 1,300 attack drones, nearly 1,200 guided aerial bombs and nine missiles over the past week alone.
The Odesa region was among the hardest hit, with port, transport and industrial infrastructure targeted, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration.
Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed on Saturday that its forces had captured two additional settlements — Vysoke in the Sumy region and Svitle in the Donetsk region — over the past 24 hours. Moscow also said it struck sites used to transport Western-supplied weapons, as well as ammunition depots, fuel facilities and positions of Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters.
The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to report intensified military activity across multiple regions.
