The Niger State Police Command has rescued two young women who were abducted in Abuja and later abandoned along the Abuja–Kaduna Expressway.

Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, that the victims were kidnapped while travelling from Kubwa to Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the women, they boarded a private vehicle occupied by three men, after which a chemical substance was sprayed on them, causing them to lose consciousness. When they regained awareness, they discovered they had been blindfolded and taken to an unknown location.

Abiodun said police received information on December 21, 2025, at about 11:45 a.m. from the Bakin-Iku Police Post that two young women from Kubwa were found abandoned and helpless along the Abuja–Kaduna Expressway, with suspected bloodstains on their bodies.

A police patrol team from the Maje Division immediately responded and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where they received medical treatment and were later stabilized.

During interrogation, the women recounted that all attempts by their abductors to obtain ransom from their families failed. The suspects subsequently seized their personal belongings, transported them on a motorcycle, and dumped them by the roadside.

SP Abiodun confirmed that the case is under investigation, adding that the victims have since been reunited with their families.
