Two-Year-Old Girl Drowns in Family Pond on Christmas Day
A tragic incident occurred on Christmas Day after a two-year-old girl drowned in a pond at her family’s home in Doncaster.
The child, identified as Isobel Wallace, reportedly wandered into the garden during festive celebrations at the family’s new residence and fell into the pond. She was later found in the water by family members.
Despite immediate efforts by her relatives to perform CPR and the prompt arrival of emergency services, Isobel was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Paying tribute to her daughter, Isobel’s mother, Tamara, described her as a “magic girl” whose short life was filled with adventure and passion.
“She lived more in her two years than some children do in a lifetime,” Tamara said, adding that Isobel would remain their “Christmas angel.”
Tamara, who is expecting a baby boy, said the family would ensure that Isobel’s younger brother grows up knowing about his sister and her vibrant spirit. “She will always be part of us,” she said.
Isobel’s aunt, Abigail Maxwell, also described her niece as a “darling angel” while launching a GoFundMe campaign to create a memorial fairy garden in her honour.
In a message on the fundraiser page, Maxwell said Isobel was a joyful, curious and adventurous child who brought happiness to everyone around her, noting that the family is devastated by the loss.
She added that the pond was not intentionally installed and had been fenced off while renovation work was ongoing at the family’s home. According to her, the proposed memorial garden would serve as a lasting place to remember Isobel’s personality and keep her memory alive.
