The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) expresses excitement that President Bola Tinubu has assured maximum support to ensure the successful hosting of the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF).
The NIPR President, Dr Ike Neliaku, stated this during a webinar organised by NIPR to mark the International Women’s Day 2026 on Saturday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than 3,000 participants from 126 countries will participate in WPRF that will take place in November in Abuja from Nov. 15 to 21.
The Forum will have side attractions to showcase and promote deep and rich Nigerian cultural heritage, unity in diversity and cherished values of Nigerians.
The Forum will also contribute to boosting Nigeria’s economy, tourism, hospitality sector, culture, arts networking, and other benefits.
Neliaku quoted the Nigerian leader as promising to declare the November 15-21 event open and give his best to ensure that the country gives the world the biggest, brightest and boldest WPRF.
“President Tinubu, being a key player in the Nigerian media industry, understands the value of what we have.
“He has deep knowledge of communication and understands clearly what this forum means for Nigeria and Africa,” he stated.
Neliaku also commended the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for the institutional backing NIPR had enjoyed under him as the nation’s chief spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the President of Global Alliance, Prof. Justin Green, lauded NIPR, the host association for the WPRF, for its efforts towards giving the world the biggest, brightest and boldest Forum.
According to him, the webinar is a demonstration of the institute’s readiness to deepen the value of inclusiveness and drive gender sensitivity.
Green, who appeared at the online platform in Nigeria’s traditional regalia, expressed hope that the November Forum would not only mark the unveiling of the first sector-based public relations university in the world but also be historic in terms of content and participation.
Also, the African Union Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), Liberata Mulamula, while adding her voice, urged public relations professionals to use their platforms to shape narratives that influence society and highlight women’s roles in peace and security.
Mulamula also underlined that empowerment of women remained the most effective tool for the development of every nation, saying that communication that advances women’s rights, challenges stereotypes, and counters misinformation was needed to protect women’s rights.
