Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents have reportedly set several schools on fire in Kautikari village, located in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to security sources and local residents, the attackers stormed the community at about 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and targeted public educational facilities, including primary and secondary schools.

Although no deaths or injuries were recorded during the attack, residents fled into nearby bushes to escape the violence.

The latest incident comes weeks after pupils of Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba were reportedly abducted and remained missing for nearly a month.

A resident said the community had previously experienced attacks by insurgents, but noted that earlier incidents did not involve destruction of public or private infrastructure.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Borno State had not officially confirmed the attack.
