Tinubu Visits Maiduguri After Devastating Alau Dam Floods
President Ahmed Bola Tinubu arrived in Maiduguri on Friday to offer condolences to the government and residents of Borno State following the devastating Alau Dam flood.
According to newsmen, Tinubu landed at approximately 3:15 p.m.
Governor Babagana Zulum received the president upon arrival, and Tinubu is expected to meet with the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni, before visiting one of the 36 camps set up for displaced persons.
The flood, which occurred on Monday, submerged nearly half of Maiduguri, causing significant loss of lives and property. Thousands of residents have been displaced, and relief efforts are underway.
