Family Trust and Care Foundation in collaboration with Beautiful Gates Handicapped People Centre, on Saturday donated 100 wheelchairs to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Gombe.
Dr Zainab Gwamna, Founder and Chairperson of the Foundation distributed the wheelchairs in Gombe.
He said the gesture was to ease the recipients movements and to make life easy for them.
Gwamna, the wife of Dr Jamil Gwamna, the Governorship Candidate, All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 general elections in Gombe State, said that the gesture was to promote inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunities for persons with special needs.
She said: “This initiative is more than the presentation of mobility aids.
“It is about restoring independence, opening doors to opportunities, and reaffirming the belief that every individual deserves the chance to live with dignity and participate fully in society.
“For many of our beneficiaries, a wheelchair represents freedom. It means access to education, healthcare, employment, social engagement, and a better quality of life.
“It is a tool that transforms lives and gives hope where limitations once existed”.
The philanthropist added that Family Trust and Care Foundation believed that inclusiveness was true development.
“A society can only thrive when every member, regardless of physical ability, has the opportunity to contribute and succeed.
“This belief continues to inspire our work in health, education, humanitarian services, and community development,” she said.
