The Kano State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has organised a lecture on the role of information officers in managing election results.
The event, which took place recently at Tahir Guest Palace, Kano, had as its theme, “Managing Election Results: The Role of Information Officers.”
Among the dignitaries in attendance include, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Dr. Ibrahim A. Bakori; the Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Amb. Abdu Abdulsamad Zango; and the Permanent Secretary, Kano State Ministry of Information, among others.
The occasion was chaired by renowned academic, communication scholar and Fellow of the Institute, Prof. Sule Ya’u Sule.
The lecture provided a platform for stakeholders to examine the importance of effective information management, responsible communication and the role of information officers in promoting transparency, public confidence and credibility in the electoral process.
