The Community Innovation Hub (CIH) in Lagos recently hosted a significant visit from the Limitless Space Institute (LSI) and IHS Towers, alongside 15 educators from the United States and Nigeria. This event was part of the Global Limitless Educator Program, designed to shape the future of space science education across Africa.

Mr. Soji Megbowon, Executive Director of Teenpreneurs Educational Foundation and Co-Founder of CIH, opened the day with a welcome address, expressing gratitude to IHS Towers and LSI for their commitment to empowering space science educators. He described the initiative as “a bold step towards fulfilling the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG-4),” which emphasizes quality education for all.

Mr. Megbowon emphasized how CIH is positioned to cultivate space science engineers throughout African communities by utilizing technology to drive learning and innovation. He noted the critical role the hub plays in preparing future African scientists and engineers for the global space science industry.

Mrs. Kaci Heins, head of the LSI team, highlighted the importance of technology in advancing space exploration. “The creativity and ingenuity here at the Community Innovation Hub are exactly what we need to push the boundaries of exploration,” she said, urging young innovators to stay committed to their growth.

Ms. Asmau Smaila, Associate Director of IHS Towers, encouraged the young innovators to pursue their dreams, adding, “The creativity on display today is proof that with hard work and support, you can achieve your goals.”

The Global Limitless Educator Program, supported by IHS Towers, aims to inspire space science enthusiasts in Nigerian classrooms and communities, overcoming socio-economic barriers through education and technology.

During the visit, CIH mentors, including Mrs. Esther Ajayi, Ms. Bunmi Meshach, Mr. Adewale Oseni, and Ms. Tobiloba Adeola, engaged the educators in discussions about the hub’s mission.
