The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) in Gombe State, has presented MANCAP certificates to three local companies—Hara Foam, Ugo Foam, and Elshadai Fashion and Milestone Multi-Business Concept—recognizing their commitment to quality standards.
Addressing newsmen at the presentation ceremony, Gombe State Coordinator of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Mohammed Alhaji Bukar highlighted the importance of the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certification, a rigorous quality assurance process introduced in 2006 to ensure consumers receive reliable, high-quality products.
“These three companies have gone through the MANCAP factory inspections and quality tests, a process that requires products to pass three consecutive assessments before certification,” Bukar explained.
“This certification ensures that consumers get value for their money,” he added.
Bukar urged the certified companies to maintain their standards, emphasizing that certification is not the end but a commitment to consistent quality.
“The awardees are going to keep up the good work they’ve started. They should not relent now that they are certified,” he added.
Also speaking with newsmen, the Managing Director of Hara Foam and Chemicals Limited, Gombe, Chidijon Emmanuel Ugwu, expressed his joy over the certification, describing it as a crown for their efforts.
He pledged that his company would continue to maintain and sustain the standards that earned them the certification, adding that they were looking forward to higher certifications from the SON.
According to Ugwu, the certification is a morale booster that that would help his company’s products to compete with other international products.
Also speaking, the Manager of Ugo Chemicals and Allied Product Limited, Ugochukwu Eze expressed gratitude to the SON for the certification.
He said with the certification, their products are no longer hidden, expressing optimism for more patronage.
On her part, the CEO of Elshadai Fashion and Milestone Multi-Business Concept, Mary Adeleke expressed excitement for the certification.
In her words, “My joy knows no bound because this is a way of announcing me to the world and advertising my product.”
She reaffirmed her commitment to impacting more youths in her community through skill acquisition training.
