Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Nigeria from Jan. 5 to 11, 2024.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, announced the visit during a virtual press briefing in Beijing. She highlighted that the visit, extended at the invitation of the respective countries, underscores China’s commitment to deepening diplomatic cooperation with African nations.
“This marks the 35th consecutive year that a Chinese foreign minister’s first overseas trip of the year will focus on Africa,” Mao stated.
The visit is expected to bolster economic, political, and cultural ties, reinforcing China’s long-standing partnership with the continent.
