Adeleke, Animashaun Dazzle at GOtv Boxing Night 33 in Lagos

Sodiq ‘Happy Boy’ Adeleke emerged the star of GOtv Boxing Night 33, scoring a third-round technical knockout over Muyideen Abiodun to clinch the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for Best Boxer, along with a ₦1 million cash prize.

The event, held at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall in Surulere, Lagos, also saw teenage boxing sensation Raheem ‘Badoo’ Animashaun extend his unbeaten streak. Animashaun secured his 15th professional win with a third-round knockout of Jean Coffi from Benin Republic in the headline bout, thrilling fans with his skill and composure.

After the fight, the law undergraduate dared challengers in his weight class to try and wrestle his West African Boxing Union (WABU) super flyweight title away from him.

Other exciting bouts included Tobiloba ‘Silent Assassin’ Ijomoni’s dominant light welterweight victory over Abolade Akintunde, while Emmanuel ‘Ability Famous’ Abimbola edged William ‘Kaki’ Amosu via split decision in a tense, closely-fought encounter.

Veteran boxer Sikiru ‘Omo Iya Eleja’ Shogbesan relied on experience to secure a unanimous decision win over Segun ‘Odi’ Gbobaniyi in a national lightweight challenge.

In another explosive match, Tosin ‘Sojar Boy’ Osaigbovo earned a sixth-round technical knockout against Adeogun Awwal, who stepped in as a late replacement for Ghana’s Emmanuel Otoo.

The night concluded with Lateef ‘Captain’ Azeez defeating Sodiq ‘Golden Boy’ Oyakojo by split decision in the super featherweight division.

GOtv Boxing Night 33 was organized by Flykite Productions and sponsored by GOtv Nigeria, delivering an electrifying evening for boxing fans.
