Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido Shine at 2025 Africa Arts Entertainment Awards
Nigerian music heavyweights Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido emerged big winners at the 2025 edition of the Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA), clinching multiple honors across top categories.
The AAEA, in its official announcement, revealed that Nigerian artistes dominated this year’s winners’ list, with awards recognizing excellence across the continent and beyond.
Wizkid’s Piece of My Heart, featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz, bagged the Best Afro-R&B award. Davido, teaming up with Chris Brown, won Best Global Collaboration for their track Hmm, while Asake’s MMS, featuring Wizkid, took home Best Afro-Native.
British-Nigerian singer Darkoo won Best Diasporan Act for her hit Favourite Girl, with the remix featuring Rema contributing to the win.
Burna Boy was named Overall Male Artist in Africa, cementing his global status, while South Africa’s Tyla took home Overall Female Artist of the Year and Best Female Artist, Southern Africa.
Tems continued her international streak by winning Best Global African Female Artiste, and Odumodublvck was crowned Best Rapper in West Africa.
In the West African regional category, Seyi Vibez won Best Male Artist, while Ayra Starr snagged Best Female Artist.
