The General Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor James Onagwa, has charged clergymen to renew their commitment to the ministry of God and service to humanity.
Onagwa gave the charge during the 70th birthday celebration of Prophet Timothy Arabambi, Founder, CAC Reformation Land (Ile-Atunse), held at the church premises in Ibadan on Sunday.
The clergy, who picked his sermon from Genesis Chapter 24, verse 1, emphasised the need for ministers of the gospel to return to the core principles and purpose of their calling.
He said, “This may involve reflecting on your ministry, seeking guidance, and reaffirming your dedication to serving others and spreading God’s message.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Onagwa was represented by the CAC Public Relations Officer, Pastor Jide Babajide.
According to Onagwa, each minister should be recommitted to a specific purpose, which in the context of clergy, means the renewal of one’s dedication to the ministry and service to God.
He admonished the celebrant, having enjoyed a long life, to devote the rest of his life to more of God’s service, obeying His wishes and touching more lives.
“In addition, this is an opportunity to straighten your life with God, touch more lives, wipe away tears, reposition the needy and prepare for eternity.
“If you look back, several of your mates have returned to their Creator, but because you have enjoyed His goodness and mercy, you are celebrating.
“Therefore, be prayerful and be full of thanksgiving,” he said.
Arabambi, while thanking God for sparing his life, promised to rededicate his life to the service of humanity.
He promised to do more for the needy, while making eternity whenever the trumpet shall sound remained his main focus.
NAN recalls that Arabambi, fondly known as “Baba lle-Atunse”, was born into a Muslim household on April 8, 1955, in Gbongan, Osun.
The birthday celebration was attended by the crème de la crème of the CAC family, children, members of his alma mater, and family members, among others.
