China to Offer Zero-Tariff Access to All African Trade Partners from May 1

0 26

China has announced it will extend zero-tariff treatment to all African countries that maintain diplomatic relations with it, effective May 1, 2026.

The move, confirmed by Chinese authorities on Tuesday, is expected to deepen trade ties and boost exports from across the African continent by removing tariff barriers on eligible goods entering the Chinese market.

Officials say the policy expansion reflects Beijing’s broader efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with African nations and support development through increased market access.
