The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 21 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Yola, Adamawa State.
According to a statement by the Commission’s Spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate during a coordinated operation on Sept. 24, 2024. The arrests took place at various locations around Modibbo Adama University in Yola.
Oyewale disclosed that the items recovered during the operation included 13 iPhones, 12 Android phones, a laptop, and a tablet. He added that the suspects are set to be charged in court soon.
