President Bola Tinubu has approved the deployment of electric vehicles in the North East, according to Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, Managing Director of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
Alkali, speaking after a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, revealed plans to establish Modular Solar Power Units to power the electric vehicles in the region. He explained that this initiative aligns with the President’s directive for government agencies to adopt Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or electric vehicles.
The NEDC will introduce e-buses for 40 passengers, electric taxis, and locally fabricated tricycles that carry up to eight passengers.
