A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Bashir Ekoja, has reaffirmed his commitment to the party, declaring that despite ongoing political realignments, his loyalty remains with the party and its senatorial candidate for Benue South, Dr. David Olofu.

Ekoja made the declaration after hosting the Director-General of the Joy Is Coming Movement, Godwin Ajuh, at his Abuja residence in what he described as their first meeting since Ajuh and his team left the ADC for the National Democratic Party (NDP) following what they termed irregularities within the party.

According to Ekoja, the meeting provided an opportunity for frank and productive discussions on the nation’s political future, democratic values, and the need to build a movement that genuinely reflects the aspirations of Nigerians.

“Politics is built on principles, convictions, and the courage to stand by what one believes is right,” Ekoja said, emphasizing that although political actors may choose different paths, mutual respect and constructive engagement remain vital for national progress.

He commended Ajuh for the visit, noting that the conversation was marked by unity, respect, and a shared desire to promote good governance and national development.

“As the political landscape continues to evolve, meaningful conversations and strategic partnerships will remain essential in our collective pursuit of a better Nigeria,” he stated.

While acknowledging the decision of Ajuh and his supporters to join the NDP, Ekoja stressed that his own political direction remains unchanged.

“While everyone has chosen their path, mine remains clear—I stand firmly with Dr. David Olofu, PhD, in the ADC. The struggle for credible leadership and a better Nigeria continues,” he declared.

The meeting comes amid continued political realignments across the country as parties and stakeholders position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
