Fatal Katsina Stabbing: 23-Year-Old Killed in Violent Youth Altercation

A violent brawl among youths at Tsohuwar Kasuwa in Funtua, Katsina State, has resulted in the death of 23-year-old Yasir Aminu.

The clash broke out at approximately 4:20 p.m. on August 22, 2026. Aminu, a resident of Unguwar Karofi, sustained a fatal knife wound to his back as a local disagreement escalated into a chaotic fight.

Police officers dispatched to the scene evacuated Aminu to Funtua General Hospital, where he later passed away while under medical care.

The suspects fled the area immediately after the stabbing, and law enforcement officers are actively investigating the incident to bring those responsible to justice. The fatality has renewed calls from residents for security forces and community stakeholders to implement stronger conflict prevention measures among local youth.
