Gombe State High Court, on Thursday upheld its earlier interim order restraining Grandscope Construction Limited further entering or commencing constructions on the disputed land property with Emir General Integrated Limited, pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice.

Our correspondent reports that Grandscope Construction had applied to vacate the interim order issued in November 2024, however, in its ruling on Thursday, the High Court, presided over by Justice Fatima Musa denied the application.

In her ruling, Justice Musa upheld the order and also granted an application by the Gombe State Government to be joined as a defendant in the suit.

The case was brought before the court by Emir General Integrated Limited, which is seeking a perpetual injunction against Grandscope Construction Limited, alleging trespass on its land.

The plaintiff further accused the construction company of violating the court’s interim order by continuing activities on the disputed property.

Following arguments from both parties, Justice Musa ruled that the interim order remains in force and adjourned the case to May 7, 2025, for the hearing of other pending applications.

The legal battle over the land has drawn significant attention, given its prime location near the newly established transport hub.
