Kidnappers Demand N30m Ransom for Abducted Kwara Monarch
The kidnappers of Oba Moses Omotayo Oyinloye, the Onigbesi of Igbesi land in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, have demanded N30 million for his release.
The monarch was reportedly abducted from his palace on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Four days after the incident, his younger brother and Nollywood filmmaker, Olaide Olabanji, disclosed the ransom demand in a post on Instagram while appealing for prayers for the monarch’s safe return.
Olabanji identified the traditional ruler as Oba Moses Omotayo Oyinloye and said the abductors were demanding N30 million to secure his release.
“My dear brother, His Royal Majesty, Oba Moses Omotayo Oyinloye, the Onigbesi of Igbesi land, Kwara State, was kidnapped on Saturday,” he wrote.
He added, “They are demanding N30 million as ransom. We pray to Almighty God for his safety.”
The development has heightened concerns over the safety of residents and traditional rulers in the area as efforts continue to secure the monarch’s release.
