Mailantarki confirms participation in Tuesday’s Gombe PDP primary, seeks party members’ support
Following the recent landmark judgment by the Federal High Court ordering the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct fresh, transparent gubernatorial primary elections within one month, former federal lawmaker Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki has officially declared his readiness to participate in the upcoming exercise scheduled for Tuesday, 29th September.
Hon. Mailantarki, whose legal challenge successfully overturned the initial unlawful allocation of the party ticket, described the court’s decision as a victory for democracy, popular will, and party constitutionality.
Ahead of the primary election, the former National Assembly member has issued a passionate call to action, urging all registered, card-carrying members of the PDP across Gombe State to come out en masse to exercise their democratic rights.
Addressing supporters and party faithful, Hon. Mailantarki stated:
“The court has restored power back to where it truly belongs to all of you here, the dedicated members of our great party. As we head into the primary election on September 29th few days to come, I urge every card-carrying member of the PDP across all wards and polling units in Gombe State to turn out in your numbers, queue peacefully in my favour.”
“This primary is not just about choosing a candidate, it is about choosing victory for the PDP in 2027 and securing a prosperous, transformed Gombe State.
“Together, we will reclaim our party’s banner and take it to ultimate victory Insha Allah come 2027 general elecrions.”
Hon. Mailantarki reassured members of his unwavering commitment to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and visionary governance, expressing supreme confidence that the party faithful will overwhelmingly entrust him with the PDP flag for the 2027 gubernatorial election on Tuesday.
