Man Dies After 19-Day Dry Fast in Lagos, Police Confirm
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man during a prolonged spiritual fast in Alagbado.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, informed newsmen on Tuesday that the tragic incident occurred on Monday around 6:00 a.m.
According to the police, the man’s younger brother, whose identity was not disclosed, reported the death at the Alagbado Police Division later that evening, around 7:00 p.m. He claimed his brother had been undertaking a 19-day dry fast before passing away.
The family, suspecting no foul play, has requested the release of the body for burial.
