In a remarkable debut with the Ducati Lenovo Team, Marc Márquez clinched victory in the Thailand MotoGP sprint race on Saturday, leading from start to finish. The six-time MotoGP champion secured pole position and maintained dominance throughout the 13-lap race at the Buriram International Circuit.
Márquez’s younger brother, Álex Márquez, delivered an impressive performance to finish second, marking a memorable day for the Márquez family. Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, Márquez’s teammate and a two-time MotoGP champion, completed the podium, resulting in an all-Ducati top three.
This victory propels Marc Márquez to the top of the championship standings for the first time since 2019, reflecting a strong start to the 2025 season. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting his consistency and effective race management.
Other notable performances included MotoGP debutant Ai Ogura, who secured a commendable fourth place, and Franco Morbidelli, who finished fifth. Local favorite Somkiat Chantra concluded the race in 19th position, while Jack Miller experienced a crash that took him out of contention.
